• A grill team is any group of people that can cook 30 or more steaks and owns or rents their own rig or grills.  (Steaks are provided to teams by event organizers.)

  • Each Grill Team will receive a space to accommodate the size of their rig/grill(s).  If you have a certain space you want (returning teams only) PLEASE NOTE IT IN THE REGISTRATION APPLICATION.  Spaces will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

  • Teams are required to use charcoal or wood.  Gas grills are not permitted. 

  • Grill Teams are required to pre-register before the December 15th deadline or before all grill team spots are filled. 

  • Grill Team Applications received after the registration deadline or after all available Grill Team slots are filled will be placed on a waiting list.  In the event another Grill Team cancels, your team will be able to take their place.

  • Judging is done in a double blind fashion to uphold the integrity of the competition.   

  • The Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off Organizers are mostly volunteers doing our very best to make this a fun and exciting event.  All proceeds benefit education scholarships for children in our community!  We ask you to be a good sport and an ambassador for the event and your team.  

  • We hope you have a great time and make many new friends while you compete and cook for the judges and our event ticket holders.

  • Don't delay in submitting your application and registration fee, AS SPACES FOR GRILL TEAMS ARE LIMITED.

  • There is a non-refundable Registration Fee of $125 per Team.  The Registration fee includes Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off Dinner Tickets* and Exclusive Gifts*.  Gifts are not guaranteed for late entries.

  • To Register Your Grill Team Please Fill out the Registration Form Below and click on Register Team Button, then Proceed to the Entry Fee and Team Agreement Form Below and Submit your Agreement and pay the Entry Fee.  

  • The Grill Team Organizer will be in touch to verify receipt of your Registration, Team Agreement and Entry Fee.

  • * See Grill Team Chart for Information on Number of Dinner Tickets Included in Registration Fee Per Team.  Additional Dinner Tickets May Be Purchased for $20 each prior to event or $25 each Day of Event.

Any photos taken by the festival (its agents, officers, employees, contractors or volunteers) of your team/equipment becomes the property of Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off®.  Contestant agrees to indemnify and hold Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off® Festival, its employees, officers, agents, contractors and volunteers harmless from any and all claims made against Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off® Festival, including without limitation, all costs, liabilities, judgments, expenses, damages and attorney’s fees, arising out of or in connection with (1) any structure erected by Contestant (2) any apparatus, equipment, or personal property used by Contestant (3) any act or omission to act of Contestant, its agents, invitees, participants, representatives, employees, servants and agents (4) any claims made on account or resulting from Contestant’s participation in the contest. 


Typing "I agree" and submitting the registration form below serves as your consent to abide by all Rules and Regulations of the Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off Festival®.

The Registration fee is $125 per Team.  Grill Team Registration must be paid online by selecting the "add to cart" button under the Grill Team Registration Fee below . Before paying the registration fee online, please complete and submit the online registration form above.


By submitting the Team Registration Fee:


  • I have read and agree to abide by the Grill Team Rules.

  • I agree to attend the mandatory Chief Cook meeting at 12 noon on Saturday, January 25 on the front steps of the church.

  • I understand there are no refunds of entry fees for any reason.

  • The Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off Organizers, Committee Members and Sponsors will not be held liable for injury, theft, loss or damage to an exhibitor's or Grill Team's product, material, and/or equipment, used in display or in any other manner.

  • By participating in the Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off you and your team members authorize the Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off Committee to use your name and likeness, including images, in any advertising or marketing media for the Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off.

  • Submitting the Team Registration Form (above) and paying your Grill Team Registration Fee indicates your agreement to all rules, terms and conditions.
